Road safety spectacle “Alex in the city” launch

On 8th of May 2014, the Automobile Club of Moldova in collaboration with “Foisor Fermecat” Theatre and the National Patrol Inspectorate launched the road safety spectacle for children “Alex in the city”.

The given Spectacle has been developed within the aim to raise awareness of road safety, support the goals of the UN Decade of Action and promote responsible behavior of children and parents, sponsored by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (http://www.fia.com/) and FIA Foundation (http://www.fiafoundation.org/). Trough implementing this innovative idea – spectacle – there will be raised children’s awareness of the dangers in traffic and teach them how to avoid these dangers.

The launch event was attended by honored guests from the UK, firefighters from “Operation Florian” organization (http://www.operationflorian.com), Mr. Geneve Mantri of “Hospice Angelus”, Mrs. Julie Utting, representative of EASST (http://easst.co.uk/) and Mrs. Jo Batson, wife of Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova.

The spectacle was first presented to children from several educational institutions from Chisinau (in 2 languages: Romanian and Russian). One of the demonstrations was held on May, 12, at boarding school Nr. 3. Children were presented with sweets, reflectors, balloons and special gifts from „Operation Florian” team.

The spectacle targets pre-school and primary school children and will be shown in kindergartens, schools, orphanages, camps, throughout the country until the end of current year.
